Aver-gi What??

So….  A rare day off and I decided to take the boys to Burger King, get some lunch, come home and watch the Incredibles.  Welcome to Burger King, may I take your order….  Jake ends up with the space shuttle from Star Trek, very cool, and it talks.

Star Trek Shuttle

“Approaching Drop Zone”, really clearly, “Approaching Drop Zone”.  Clear, I’m not kidding, not like trying to talk to someone underwater the length of the pool.  So of course I say approaching drop zone, and this is how the rest of the conversation with Jake goes:

Jake:  It doesn’t say that Dad.

Brent:  Ummmm, yes it does(presses play again)

Shuttle:  Approaching Drop Zone.

Jake:  No it doesn’t

Brent:  Yes, I’m pretty sure it does(presses play again)

Shuttle:  Approaching Drop Zone.

Jake:  No it doesn’t Dad.

Brent:  Yes Jake, it clearly says approaching drop zone(pressing play again) see, how is it you can’t hear that it is saying approaching drop zone.(presses play again)

Shuttle:  Approaching Drop Zone.

Jake:  Dad, it doesn’t say that.

Brent:  Ok, Jake.  What is the shuttle saying?(pressing play again, and starting to doubt myself)

Shuttle:  Approaching Drop Zone.

Jake:  Aver-gi Kramzee-are.

Brent:  What?

Jake:  Aver-gi Kramzee-are.

Brent:  What??

Jake:  Aver-gi Kramzee-are.

Brent:  Jake, I can’t tell what you are saying(realizing he isn’t speaking english, perhaps Japanese)

Jake:  Aver-gi Kramzee-are.

At this point I reaize I don’t know enough Japanese to tell if he is saying something.  I continue to ask him what the shuttle is saying and everytime it’s Aver-gi Kramzee-are.  After 2 days I realize what he is saying, with Joelle’s help, and another 2 days to actually remember the thing on my own.  Sometime during that 4 days I lost track of the shuttle(just in case he needed a reminder of what it said) and I tore apart the house looking for it.  Quinn had it.  Oh boy, this one is gonna stay with us for a long time.
