Right, so. Today we planned to get out to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, I figured since I’m off for a few days why not, but I didn’t want to be up there all day. Jo says to me so let’s leave the house at 9a.m. then we get up there and get back and it will still be pretty early in the day. We didn’t make it up there at 9a.m. nor did we make it up there at 10 a.m. We couldn’t even make it up there by 11 a.m. for the first dolphin show. You’d think possibly 12, maybe grab some lunch then look at some fish….but alas ’twas not to be. Now I know what you’re thinking, you’re thinking that we made it up there by 1 p.m., or 1300, and I laugh at you. Try 1:45. Come on, really? 1:45? That is when I wanted to be home, or there abouts. So, we start in.
After you get in the first thing you come up to is the ummmm, touch pool, handling pool, it’s the thing where you can touch some of the star fish and things. After that they have these tanks that wind around as you head down to the BIGGEST tank, with lots of fish and sharks and sea turtles.
Since we were there so late in the afternoon we got some really cool sunlight that was trickling down through the tank, I hope I was able to capture the coolness. There is also a lionfish that hangs out in this area of the tank and I got some cool pics of him also.
We realized that the Dolphin show started so we had to zoom through the rest of the Aquarium to make it in time to see the dolphins jump out of the water.
After the show and much sweating we headed back into the Aquarium to grab a quick bite to eat and finish looking at the fish. The boys, however, had lost interest in looking at the fish and wanted more to run around pretending to be sharks.
They wanted to stop by this typical Japanese tourist picture thing on the way in but Jo told them we’d stop on our way out. It is a little goofy but when in Rome….
They put this Gigantic rope thing in about a year and a half ago so now we have to stop and let the boys run around and climb on the Gigantic rope thing.
That was about our day. Oh wait, we stopped by the British Wine and Tea Shop on our way home to have some tea and strumpets, they were delicious. Just like we had in England, for those of you that come over and went to have cream tea with us. Fantastic. On our way home Jo stopped and fed Kira, who strangely enough slept through her whole first big day out, and, looking in the distance I saw….
All in all it was a pretty good day. I felt like I had a successful day with the ol’ camera, and by the time we got home Jake had fallen asleep and I carried him right up to bed. Quinn was still awake, he got a nap, but he went down pretty easy and with very little hastle. Kira, of course, didn’t really do much of anything, she can’t even hold her head up yet. Soon she will and then the flipping and then the crawling….and then the driving. Oh boy.
