Last time I was in school…let’s see. I was thinking about trying to graduate, finally. Hannah had just moved back to South Carolina with her mom and step dad. I missed her terribly and I think I actually hit a bit of a depression, I just found better things to do than go to school. Needless to say that was an expensive quarter for not much of anything.
Anything that is except for this wonderful adventure that has become my life in the United States Navy. You see, I was busy not going to class when I got a call from my recruiter in Hanford. He said he could get me a $9000 signing bonus if I joined in the next 2 weeks. I’m not kidding when I tell you I dropped everything and packed up and left. I think I might have told my roommate, maybe…just left and joined the Navy.
Great Lakes, Ill, San Diego, CA, Pearl Harbor, HI, Cornwall, England, Okinawa, Japan…. Whidbey Island…wait…. That’s a different post. Lemme get to that one in a bit. So as you can see an amazing journey, crazy they’re all islands, hmmmmmm. I’ve posted a couple of times both here and here about lenses I was thinking about, and I’ve tried to take and include lots of pictures in my other posts so folks can see what I am talking about. Now I don’t want to say that photography has become a passion for me but let’s just say that it is a DEFINITE interest. As well as something I would like to not only get better at but good enough where I don’t have to much post processing to do.
I’ve mulled and thought and thought and mulled finally after dragging my feet as much as I could I enrolled in college again. Strangely enough it is the Art Institute of Pittsburg, online division in which I have enrolled. This is funny for a couple of reasons. 1st, Art Institute…me…really? 2nd, college…again…really? 3rd Seriously, an Art Institute? 4th, it’s online, which means I have to chat…CHAT…me…chat. I know, I know, it doesn’t sound that difficult, after all I’ve got a blog and I’m on FB right? How much have you seen me chat on FB?
Anyway, all that said I think I’ve found something I can become more and more passionate about, it is a way I can be artistic without having to paint, draw or write. Enjoying what I am doing will certainly will make it easier to go to class and try to get better and get the degree that has eluded me so far in my scholastic career. More pictures to come….
